All About Anger Management
Anger is an emotion that can rear its ugly head at any place. You have to realize that as long as you interact with human beings. You will get angry. The differences in human ideologies can rub off on you and get you hopping mad. At your workplace, its no different. The work environment is a place where there is a melting pot of people around.
Getting angered is inevitable. Controlling your anger, however, is an entirely different matter. Anger can destroy an organization’s objective if it isn’t managed well. Workplace where anger is allowed to run amok is bound to have a negative impact on productivity as many people will be unable to function effectively.
It is essential that an anger free environment is created at work if the organization is going to achieve its goals. Can you imagine working with boss who flares up at the slightest provocation? You’ll be walking on egg shells all day around him or her. Your nerves will be stretched thin from paying extraordinary attention to detail so that your boss won’t loose it… AGAIN.
Eventually, when your tolerance level goes beyond its limits, you become angry in return and may ultimately engage in a shouting match withy your boss- something you wouldn’t do on a normal day. Anger definitely makes the best of us act like a bunch of cave men!
If you are a company or firm owner, it is important that you try as much as possible to promote an anger free environment by being a perfect example of calm and poise yourself. Don’t let an anger tantrum go unpunished among your staff or else the rest of your staff will feel that it can be permitted. Be quick to make an example of any employee that gets angry without control.
It is also pertinent that you send your employees to anger management classes consistently to encourage a conducive environment for work. Remember, anger at work will hinder your organization goals.
